Wind battered me
Rain washed my face
Blurred my vision
I struggled against this
Trying to forge my way through life.

The mud stuck to my shoes
They sucked at my body
Tried to pull me under
Tried to consume me
And I thought all was lost to me.

But then I felt a presence
A presence that called to me
I looked up and I saw your face
You reached out to me
Told me to take your hand
And together we've taken flight
And, I pray with everything I have,
That we will never stop flying.

I want to fly with you, forever.
I want to see every sight in my life, with you.
I want to experience everything, with you.
I want the flame burning in my heart
To never cease crackling
To feast on logs that never turn to ash
Until the moment I move to Heaven to wait for you.
